This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My second-grade students are extremely bright scholars and excited to be in school each and every day! This is a Title One school and many times, the students struggle with school and life in general. To see them so excited to show up every day with a smile on their face ready to learn truly warms my heart.
I want to build on this love of learning and give them the support and skills they need to achieve anything they set their minds to.
My Project
With the students coming back into the classroom this year after a year of distance learning, writing will be challenging. I want to give them an easy and interactive way to use our class word wall. I will purchase a word wall set from TPT, I will print each letter in a different color, and use the command hooks to hang them on the binder rings. I will laminate them so they are easy to clean between students. I know having words that they can bring to their desk will help them in their writing.
