My Students

I am blessed to teach a group of energetic and motivated students. These kids thrive on inquiry-based science.

I am also blessed to have a parent base with high expectations for their kids.

It is really obvious from the students that parents place a great emphasis on progress in the academic arena.

Interactive science notebooks are a way for​ students to own their learning by taking the information provided by the instructor and use it in a way that is meaningful to them.

My Project

I am asking students to maintain an interactive science notebook. This is a standard sized composition notebook.

This consist of a bound composition notebook which is a central clearinghouse for materials we cover in class.

Every year there are students who are unable to provide their own notebooks. Ensuring that each student has access to their own notebook would even up the playing field for those students.

The interactive notebook model focuses on the Left side/right side format which provides a way to students to take notes and then incorporate that information​ into a variety of projects including graphic organizers, diagrams and even poems.
