FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Dumas's classroom raised $530
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Discovering how to read is life changing! I am a Reading Specialist at a Reading First Title 1 school.
The school I teach at is in a high poverty, low economic community with a large English language learner population where many resources are simply not available. Due to home limitations, students come to school wanting to learn.
These students will greatly benefit from having a variety of reading resources that they can learn to use and thus take learning into their own hands. Students can use these various reading center activities by themselves or with a partner. They will work on Reading First skills through a hands-on approach to learning.
With the help of donors, hands-on learning will be taking place in our classroom centers as well as giving students opportunities to learn at their own pace.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
