My students need audio books for our listening center, software for our interactive whiteboard, and glue.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Hayes's classroom raised $976

My Students
Many of my students have a difficult time paying attention to activities for extended periods of time. Interactive software and audio books will help my students to stay engaged in educational activities for longer periods of time, thus allowing them to learn more. My students love technology!
Our class is a Pre-K for students between the ages of 3-5 with special needs.
Their disabilities differ, but most are placed on the Autism spectrum. We are located on an elementary school campus and are the only Pre-K in the district. My students have their days, planned full of interventions, assessments, and therapy sessions. They are all such little troopers that face great difficulties daily. When they come to school, I want them to be excited and happy. School should be challenging, but there's no reason it can't also be fun! Despite their disabilities, the students in my classroom are just like any other preschooler. They love coming to school and exploring their environment in hands-on ways. We love music, dancing, and art (especially the messy kind!), but our favorite time of the day is story time! If you were to visit our classroom, you would probably be introduced to our favorite book, "Pete the Cat," within the first five minutes of your arrival (probably sooner!).
My Project
We were recently lucky enough to have an interactive whiteboard donated to our classroom through DonorsChoose, but we don't have any programs to use on it! We would love preschool based educational interactive software in order to practice pre-academic concepts. In addition, I have requested audio books to enhance our current library. My students LOVE books on CD and it is one of their favorite things to do after they have finished their work. I would like to be able to expand the materials they are exposed to. The mirror I requested will help to make our library more cozy. In addition, our class is running very low on our glue supply, which makes art projects very difficult! Art projects help us to practice fine motor skills which are essential in kindergarten.
Your donation to this project will help my students by allowing them to create art projects, work on their attention, and expand their access to high quality audio reading materials.
