Interactive Notebooks Make Interactive Students

Help me give my students interactive literacy notebooks. We need printer paper to make copies of mentor sentences and paragraphs. We need stickers and stamps reinforce effective work. Tape and glue help us stick papers into our notebooks.

My Project

We use a textbook that has grade-level readings and in order to help students understand these texts, English as a Second Language teachers use many strategies to break the learning into smaller chunks. This might mean giving students a copy of one paragraph from our shared reading but printing it out with enough space between the lines of writing that students can make notes about new vocabulary words and mark different parts of speech. This might mean typing out additional guided questions or graphic organizers to help students pause and think about how the language works in a certain part of the text. Or this might mean printing out vocabulary cards for practice. All of this takes the supplies you will help us get! Tape, glue, stamps and stickers help us make these notebooks useful, Interactive, and interesting.
