This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We teach eighth grade Language Arts and History at a wonderful school that serves a predominantly English Language Learner (ELL) population. One of the ways we create a supportive and engaging classroom environment is through the use of interactive notebooks.

Interactive notebooks are a powerful learning tool that blend structure with creativity, helping students master both language and academic content.

They support the development of critical organization and note-taking skills, essential for understanding and retaining what students learn in both Language Arts and History.

With your support, our students will receive the materials they need to build personalized, interactive notebooks filled with notes, academic vocabulary, diagrams, illustrations of concepts, and reflections on their learning. These tools not only help students better grasp the content, but also empower them to take ownership of their education.

Your donation will help create an equitable, engaging classroom where ELLs and all students can thrive. Thank you for believing in public education and helping our students grow into confident, curious learners.
