it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project aims to empower 5th-grade students in an under-resourced Title 1 school by providing essential materials for creating interactive ELA notebooks. These notebooks will serve as personalized and organized learning tools, ensuring equitable access to resources often lacking at home. By actively engaging with the curriculum through graphic organizers, foldables, and creative expression within their notebooks, students will develop stronger organizational skills, enhance reading comprehension, and improve their writing abilities. This hands-on approach fosters a more engaging and motivating learning environment, ultimately building foundational skills necessary for future academic success.
The goal of this project is to nourish independent learning, increase student engagement, and provide a structured system for mastering ELA concepts.
These 5th graders, despite the challenges inherent in a Title 1 environment, are resilient, determined learners with unique perspectives and a strong desire to succeed. By providing them with the tangible tools for interactive notebooks, this project helps to unlock their full potential, fostering a sense of ownership over their learning and setting them on a path towards a brighter academic future.
