it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come into the classroom ready to learn. They are energetic, committed, driven, and able to learn everything that we teach them. They are even excited to hear about every topic, opportunity, and challenge that teachers present. Unfortunately, at the Title I school that I teach at in Philadelphia, my low income students and their families are often unable to afford basic life needs, and therefore rely heavily on teachers to provide basic supplies that are necessary for the students’ academic success. While I do spend my own money on supplies, I still need extra help to provide the necessary supplies for my students to have the opportunity to succeed. With help from people like you, we can give these students the resources they need to succeed in the classroom, and the world.
My Project
The two items, piano and a white board, will be used for both at home and in person learning. The piano will support students learning by allowing them to listen to live performances and follow along with music to sing in person and at home. The white board will allow students to interact with notation, the class schedule, read instructions and much more while the smart board is being used for other activities. Interactive learning helps students to learn in a more well rounded and permanent manner, and facilitates creativity that is vital for music learning.
