Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach kindergarten in a diverse community with a high percentage of ELL students. I have a group of energized kindergartners who love to play and learn but are also such a helpful group who love keeping our room clean and organized. My school just became a leader in me school and we are molding kiddos from the very beginning to be leaders in all that they do!
My Project
Our students have been working hard to learn their letter names and learn to count up to 10 so far this year. They love working independently during centers time.
This project would allow them to work independently or with a partner to practice identifying letters and improving their counting skills.
We currently only have one Hot Dots in class and the students love using it to practice what they know. They take turns taking it home to continue practicing since it's something they can do on their own, with just one they have to wait for it to be returned before they get a chance to use it. With your support students won't have to wait too long to get to take one home for extra practice or have more to use in the classroom.
The other centers will also help students reinforce their skills in building cvc words and learning to use sight words in their sentences.
