Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
An exciting world of reading, let's start with Learning A-Z with an interactive computer reading program.
My students have special needs and range from Kindergarten to 5th grade.
The students that I work with have disabilities that include Autism, ADHD, Specific Learning Disabilities, and other Health Impairments. Currently, these students are attending one of the largest Title One magnet schools in Los Angeles. The school accommodates 1200 children, but I work with 30 students with special needs. Many of the students come from disadvantaged neighborhoods. They all come from the inner city of Los Angeles.
My Project
With the state of our economy it is very important for us to be able to have the technology to help inspire and motivate these young minds. The children constantly ask if it is their turn on the computer, unfortunately I only have one computer in the class to allow them to use. I am requesting one more computer.
I strongly feel my students can greatly benefit from the different learning programs utilizing modern technology.
I have seen great improvement in such a short time with the use of this program.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
