Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very anxious to learn and explore new things. The four year olds in my classroom are getting their first exposure to school. This is our chance to open their young minds and expose them to the great beginnings of knowledge school has to offer by giving them opportunity to explore.

My students are energetic, excited and eager learners.

They are four years old. They have very impressionable minds and are ready to absorb everything presented to them. My students learn best from hands on experiences and interactive play. For many of my students coming to school is the only way they get to experience the world outside of their home. They get exposed to technology, science, math and reading, books, computers, field trips to museums. I feel it is my job to make sure they experience this wonderful world of knowledge that they would not get otherwise. The school I work at has the most amazing group of teachers that are dedicated to making sure their students are successful. It is very important to us that we have the tools and equipment to make sure our students are getting the exposure and the tools they need to aid in their success.

My Project

In my classroom we will use the ABC carpet as a learning tool as well as a meeting place for circle time. My students will use it to help with letter recognition activities. They love using the smart board, with the software they will be able to reinforce the things they are learning by using the interactive games. I love the wireless headphones for our listening center, this will assist my students when using this center by not having to untangle cords all the time. The media cart will allow an area to store the equipment we use for the smart board and Elmo.

The donations for this project would mean a lot to my students.

They will get the opportunity to learn using hands on and interactive items. My class will improve a great deal, by way of my students using these items to better understand and grasp a concept using the interactive software.
