At AES, we foster a community of students with strong character and high self-esteem who display critical-thinking skills that will enable them to become life-long learners. Our staff members and parents work together to educate more than 600 children in grades preK-5th. Our school is considered a Title I school with 100% of our students receiving free and reduced-rate lunch.
My classroom consists of 16 amazing and imaginative students.
Each student is unique and will bring their own energy and inquisitiveness to the classroom. We are a learn-through-play class that includes pencil/crayon/marker-to-paper activities. Parents have also requested that homework/home activities be sent home.
We are requesting journals, glue sticks, crayons and colored pencils to be used as students learn about letters/sounds, rhyming and sight words. The journal will be used for students to draw and write about drawing as well as cut & paste interactive letter activities.
My Project
Pre-K students do a lot of learning through playing. They will be able to play and learn on the rug as well as with the rug.
This rug works with an app to make it interactive.
Students will use the rug for comfort when participating in circle time and small group. They will also use it as a learning resource due to its interactive play with a free app. Our rug will help with ELA...alphabet identification and beginning sounds math...counting, science...animals and tech...interactive app.
Our rug will keep students engaged as well as enhance learning through group and individual play.
