My students need interactive software to boost engagement and active participation!

My Students
I teach a TK-2nd grade Autism Specific self-contained classroom embedded in a supportive elementary school. My students need various levels of supports to help them access the curriculum and be successful in school. The students thrive off of structured routine and classroom supports. My students learn the best by DOING and getting their hands "dirty".
I love my job and love my students even more!
My students have all been diagnosed with autism at a very early age and all of them have speech and language impairments. Their abilities are a true spectrum and their abilities vary tremendously from kid to kid. They are the sweetest and happiest kids I know and they absolutely love being at school. The elementary school is structured so that my students interact with the general education students every day. The school community is very accepting and supportive of my students.
My Project
I am requesting materials to help build more interactive lessons in my classroom. I have a TK-2nd grade Autism Specific classroom and my students require more visual and hands-on lessons in order to grab their attention to learn.
The Lakeshore Early Learning Interactive Software Suite will provide my students with motivational activities and games that boost skills through play!
I currently have an interactive calendar software that the kids absolutely love. They participate as a whole group and really attend to the interactive software! The games cover wide variety of language, math and science concepts. The interactive software provides audio and visual feedback to reinforce attention and learning. DVD games include phonics, letter-sound matching, sequencing, following directions, positional words, letter formation, patterns, math correspondence, addition/subtraction, nutrition, weather, senses and plants.
In my years of teaching special education, it has been hard to find certain activities that grab my students attention. With the interactive activities on the whiteboard, I have found just that! They can learn as a whole group while I am up in front teaching a lesson. That is the main goal for my students, learn just how their peers do in gen.ed.
