This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are happy and very motivated. They love to learn and explore new topics. They are curious and independent thinkers! They are always eager to participate in class. Furthermore, they are supportive and kind to one another, and often encourage each other in class.

My Project

I work in a low-income community that cannot afford new classroom furniture. With only a few fractured bookshelves in my classroom, I'm interested in providing a more enriching space. With that said, I am a Reading Specialist and incorporate elements of writing into reading instruction. Applying writing to the reading process is especially helpful to my English Language Acquisition learners. I'd love to give my students desks to write on to enhance learning. In addition, I want to provide them with a clean, functional, multi-purposeful space that will support their learning. I know my students would be overjoyed to have dry erase desks since they LOVE to practice writing.
