This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a kindergarten teacher, I have to ensure that I am always being creative and innovative in developing learning activities for my students. I want them to learn through multiple intelligences and challenges that help them grow as independent thinkers. I also want to make sure I have activities that allow them to work cooperatively and socialize with their peers.
Interactive kindergarten centers, with various ways of having hands-on learning activities, will provide my students with the opportunity to strengthen their phonics, reading, alphabet recognition, and writing skills.
The materials requested will be used daily as my students are always excited to learn through different activities. The interactive center materials such as the magnetic letters, Play-Doh, and sight word flash cards will provide me with the chance to give my students more support with learning the alphabet and important sight words that will help them with writing skills. They will also use them to identify letters and build words. Using the leveled readers, they will develop phonics skills as they read independently and with peers.
