Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My goal for my students is for them to gain the knowledge they need in order to be successful, and to have fun doing it. My biggest challenge in getting them there is some of my students can't afford many things.
My students are primarily from low income families.
Each day they face challenges before they even get to school in the morning. Each of my forty-eight students has their strengths and weaknesses, and they all bring something special to our classroom. Our school works together to be creative and find engaging ways to meet the diverse needs of our students.
My Project
I have requested writing supplies such as 50 compositions books, a writing caddy, crayons, dividers, erasers, and gel pens for the remainder of the year. These school supplies will primarily be used to start the students on creating interactive notebooks.
Interactive notebooks are a learning tool that aid students in learning organization, as well as giving them a resource to study from. The crayons and markers will be utilized throughout every content area. In addition, I have requested some writing caddies to organize our supplies.
Your donation to this project will ensure that each student has access to the supplies they need to create an interactive notebook they take pride in.
It will also allow me to begin training first graders in organizational preparedness, as well as creativity and alternative methods of obtaining information.
