My Students
I am a kindergarten inclusion teacher. This coming year, I expect to have 18-20 students from very diverse backgrounds. At least five of my students will have learning disabilities and/or health concerns that qualify them to be in the ESE program, three of which will be non-verbal. Many of my students will speak another language as their first language, ESOL students. Several students come from one-parent families or living with relatives.
No matter what makes up their educational profile, their personalities shine through with such eagerness and anticipation for each day's lesson.
They always make significant growth in our academics as a whole, but the amount of growth with our social skills and team building leaves me in awe of these amazing children. Each child leaves smiling and with a feeling, they have made a difference in someone's day, whether it is my day or a friend.
My Project
The GoTouch Basic 3.0 will provide my students with an enriching learning experience by allowing projected visual elements to become interactive. It will make differentiated learning much easier because I will be able to accommodate different learning styles. Visual learners are able to observe the whiteboard, while tactile learners can learn by touching the board with the pen. The will especially help my students with autism and language impairment improve communication skills through group collaboration and hands-on learning.
By turning the screen into an interactive whiteboard allows me the ability to present things visually, and provide ease in creating and altering activities to control students’ learning.
My students learn best when they are fully engaged, and hands-on learning is one of the best ways to do that.
