Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Children love playing computer games- especially games that lead to learning. Using interactive educational software in the classroom is sure to motivate and enhance my students' education.
My third grade students attend an inner city school in a predominately low income neighborhood.
Although some of my students may have computer technology at home, the majority of them have gained their limited experience with computers at school or at the local public library. When visiting the school's computer lab once a week, my students become excited and eager to try out new interactive learning games. I want them to feel that same excitement in the classroom on a daily basis, and not just on our weekly computer lab visits.
My Project
These educational CD-Rom sets will help increase my students' motivation and engagement in the classroom. Most students do not grasp a new concept or skill when it is first introduced. However, with the use of these educational CD-Roms, students will be able to visualize the concepts and ideas being discussed. The software will help students learn, review, and reinforce reading comprehension, grammar, math, and science skills. My students will become actively involved in their learning while having fun at the same time. I am certain that my students will be enthusiastic and will look forward to participating in the interactive activities and games, and will then ultimately increase their knowledge.
