Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager to continue learning! They love to participate in engaging projects that stimulate their brain and also helps them think outside the box when they encounter something out of the ordinary! However, due to COVID-19 things will be a little different for us this year. We will begin the school year with remote learning.
Even though this is a new learning experience, my students are up for the challenge!
My kiddos strive in doing their best! Our school is located in the Southside of Chicago, where 91% of our students come from a low-income household. All students deserve a quality education no matter the circumstances!
My Project
My students log into class daily and are eager to learn! Due to the pandemic, I try to create different lessons and use various resources to keep my students engaged and excited to learn. However, It has become a bit challenging to continue to create interactive digital activities for EVERY lesson.
Having the ability to purchase interactive digital resources would make a huge difference in my students' learning!
I also added various materials such as classroom sets of clipboards and dry erase pocket sleeves for when we do transition back into the classroom. Purchasing these classroom sets will be ideal so that each student will have their materials and won't have to share. This will be a necessity in order to reduce the risk of transmitting COVID. The project will help my students stay engaged during remote learning and will help provide the material needed for when students return in person.
