Interactive Charts Feed Learning

Help me give my students materials to help them be more self-sufficient and motivated to work in the classroom by giving materials for interactive anchor charts and vocabulary games.

My Project

At my school, our 4th grade team is departmentalized. I teach all of 4th grade ELA. The materials that I have chosen will help my students with the ability to do more interactive anchor charts. In my classroom, I believe in creating anchor charts that students get to create and truly immerse themselves in their learning. For instance, we make an anchor chart on inferences and students put post-its all over the anchor chart to show their learning on the topic or I create an anchor chart on literary elements and students put post-its all over the elements they know. Every single unit I do multiple charts that students get to help create. That has been by far the most fun part of teaching 4th grade.

The color printer and dry-erase cards will allow students to explore vocabulary with colored pictures and the ability to play the game "headbands" with a Kagan structure to have students demonstrate an understanding of vocabulary.

Our whole school is putting more focus on vocabulary. My homeroom class has a high level of ELL students, so the ability to see pictures in colors is imperative to their success. I also have CLS and resource students who would benefit from the added color on assignments and color vocabulary cards.

What makes my students special is how tenacious they are. My students are hardworking, kind, and all-around deserving of everything available to them. As a whole school, we integrate CLS and resource students into the general education classroom. Watching my students become the kindest individuals gives me such hope for the future.
