My Students
My second grade students are wonderful and full of energy. They need more updated and new material to help with their language skills and to increase reading levels.
Many of my second grade students are learning English as a second language and need as many differentiated materials as possible.
In this second grade classroom, my children love coming to school. The School District of Philadelphia does not have all the necessary funds in their budget to give us anything extra. So I am asking for that extra help today.
My Project
The materials I am requesting will help my students have access to a rich classroom library and centers. This will allow my students to practice everyday. I have limited literacy resources for students who are not on grade level. My students are in desperate need in learning how to speak English. They need pictures and words to match up with those pictures. These Leapfrog interactive books are on different levels and will help them read independently while the teacher works in small groups. Almost everything you do in life requires you to read. It is so important. Please put yourself in their shoes, they just want to be given a chance and need as much support as possible.
I believe that books always need to be be the foundation for a successful education.These children need as many resources as possible to help them move forward.
These eight year old children need a chance; please help them out. Repeated reading is shown to improve reading skills. Having these interactive books will help all the students in my classroom. It will allow them to continue to read and become successful. Being successful and seeing improvement keeps the children going.
