Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The majority of my students are trilingual and bilingual students. They lack vocabulary and background knowledge due to their limited English proficiency. They love learning to read and learning the English language. It is easier for them if they have visuals and are learning in an interactive and fun way. Our current centers aren't super interactive or fun and we have been using them for most of the year. We are in need of new, interactive, and fun ELAR centers.
I plan to use these centers in whole-group and small-group lessons.
We do daily centers for 30 minutes and the students get to explore and work on their own during this time. I will also use these materials, word-building games, and activities when I work with students individually to bridge any gaps they have. These materials will help us reach our end-of-the-year goals and help the students learn to read, rhyme, and spell.
