My Students
My students are really special to me for many reasons. I have a wonderful group of students who come from diverse backgrounds that make them unique. Being engaged in their own learning is crucial for ensuring their success. For example, I know that they learn best through active and meaningful experiences that they can connect across the content areas and to their own experiences. Learning by doing is essential for us because it is so highly motivating.
Unfortunately, most of the enriching experiences my students encounter are within the school walls because my students live in high poverty situations.
I strive every day to make school fun and meaningful for my precious students, while providing them with a close classroom community in which they feel safe. They deserve the very best!
My Project
With the upcoming election, it is important that I take the time to teach my wonderful students about the election process. One of their favorite series is the Who Was series. I know that my students will love reading a book from that series titled, What Is a Presidential Election, as well as other books about the election.
In order to maintain safety in the classroom, students will need to see the election book projected on my screen.
In order to do this, I am asking for a document camera so that students can follow along from the safety of their desk. The stylus pen will allow me to write directly on my device while it is being projected to my screen. We will have great discussion about the election together while jotting down all of their thoughts!
