This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Leonard Flynn is a Reading First school with strict mandates regarding curriculum and delivery of instruction. Most of our students are English Language Learners from low income households with little if any support at home. Therefore, we have a daily English language development learning block dedicated to bridging the education gap for our most traditionally at risk students.
We are in need of some additional phonics materials in order to provide students with more interaction with the materials and a full range of learning opportunities.
