This project is fully funded

As a returning teacher to the relatively new Butler Campus at Community Academy Public Charter schools, I am exited to introduce technology to the second grade class. Resources are limited and usually received by donation or from grants written for supplies by teachers. This year students will learn that we use computers for many things including information, entertainment and research. With a digital camera, students will create a photo journal of in-class projects to be shared with other classes and parents at our school wide assemblies. We will adopt a tree, photograph it and journal the changes from season to season. We will learn about geography and tour the wonderful monuments and landmarks that we find on a map of Washington D.C. This will help us to create a PowerPoint presentation as a "virtual tour" of our nation's capitol for our families and friends. The second graders will learn basic computer functions and how to operate a digital camera. They will also learn how to connect these technology tools to be able to save and share they learning. I am excited to introduce technology into the classroom and across all of the curricula. I know with these technology tools available, learning this year will be active, engaged and memorable.
