Integrating Technology: Helping Students with Autism

My students need tablets, laptop computers, and an iPad. My students need sight words games and puzzles. My students needs headphones for their computers.

My Students

Our school motto is "Excellence Without Excuses". Our special education classes have 4 iPads to share with 60 students. It would be beneficial for our students with disabilities to be able to use the device everyday. I want my students to achieve at the same level as the regular education students.

I have nine students with disabilities.

Their disabilities range from Autism, deafness, vision impairments, and intellectual disabilities. I have one girl and 8 boys in my classroom. My students are eager to learn and technology is a helpful tool to help them achieve success. Our school is a Title 1 school and does not have enough funding to supply all students with the technology that is needed.

My Project

My students will be able to use the iPads, laptop computers, and tablets to obtain a vivid an exciting experience, while learning daily living skills. The writing for personal use, completing job application, counting money, and telling time are functional living skills that can be obtain using these resources.

This project will make a difference in my students' lives by giving them the inspiration to work even harder.

I work hard to expose my children to the new technology wave that are upon us and with your generous donations my students will be able to obtain hands-on-experience on a daily basis. On behalf, of my school, administrator and students, I would like to say thank you in advance for your donations
