This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Social studies is an often-neglected subject in elementary school because it isn’t generally assessed on the state standardized tests that young children take.
It is important to integrate social studies instruction into our reading block and everyday classroom routines.
These books will supplement my social studies curriculum.
The NCSS explains that the purpose of elementary school social studies is to enable students to understand, participate in, and make informed decisions about their world.
These books will help my students make sense of the world they live in! This is necessary.
