Integrating Movement into the Classroom!

Help me give my students poly spot markers, stability balls and holders, bean bags, balls, and a parachute for lessons integrated with movement in the regular education classroom.

My Students

My school is a Title I school with 65% of the students qualifying for Free and Reduced-Priced lunch. The students are hard working and range in ability levels from Special Education to Gifted and Talented with all grade levels and classrooms.

I reach all 60 plus fifth graders math and reading interventions as well as teaching my homeroom students all subject areas.

They are a diverse group of learners from all backgrounds. Students come into the classroom willing to try new concepts when you make it fun and engaging!

My Project

Our students are diverse learners and we need to be willing to need all of their needs. One way we can do this is by integrating movement into our classrooms! With our physical education times being cut, our students are not getting the exercise and activity time they need to be successful in the regular education classroom.

Movement in the classroom helps students stay on task and reduces behaviors!

We cannot just keep students in their seats all day and with these different tools my classroom has asked for we will be up and moving in all subject areas. Imagine how much fun students are able to have while learning different skills.

Math is a great place for students to record their own statistics, create their own sports cards, and track their improvement. This one project incorporates math, reading, writing, technology, and physical education. Let's turn our classroom into a fun and engaging place to be!
