My Project
My Pre-K students are bright, imaginative, and eager to learn. Each day, they come into the classroom ready to explore the world around them through hands-on play. They come from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, and each child brings something special to our classroom community—whether it’s a big imagination, a kind heart, or a strong sense of curiosity. What makes them so special is their resilience, enthusiasm for learning, and the way they support one another, even at such a young age. They thrive in environments that offer structure, creativity, and the freedom to explore new ideas through play.
This project will provide my students with Duplo blocks and a Duplo activity table, creating an intentional and engaging learning space within our classroom.
The Duplo blocks will allow them to build letter shapes, count and sort by colors, create repeating patterns, and develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills through imaginative play. The Duplo table will help organize these activities, giving students a dedicated space for collaboration and creativity while also supporting classroom structure and flow. These materials will not only strengthen fine motor development but also encourage language, math, and early engineering concepts through open-ended exploration.
The goal of this project is to use purposeful play to help students build foundational academic and social-emotional skills that will support their success in kindergarten and beyond. With access to these materials, students will have the opportunity to learn in ways that are developmentally appropriate, joyful, and aligned with early childhood best practices.
