My Project

Watercolor painting enhances fine motor skills and self-expression while seamlessly integrating with subjects like science, where students can explore color mixing and the water cycle, or social studies, where they can illustrate historical events and cultures. In science we will use these outdoor notebooks to document our natural world, where it is rainy most days (Southeast Alaska). In language arts, students can create visual representations of stories and poetry, deepening comprehension. Additionally, using watercolors encourages experimentation and problem-solving, essential skills for lifelong learning. Providing these supplies ensures all students have access to enriching, hands-on learning experiences that make lessons more engaging and meaningful.
