Instruments "A la Cart"
SERVING SUGGESTIONS:
2 high-need, high poverty elementary schools
2 Title I certificates
1 music teacher on a cart
(Serves 400 students total)
INGREDIENTS:
24 pan and fluted rhythm sticks
24 rhythm sticks
18 finger cymbals
18 jingle sticks
1 table gong
MIX:
Add one child, one pair of rhythm sticks (either pan and fluted, or regular), one pair of finger cymbals, and one jingle stick until moving uncontrollably. Add music, song, and dance. Repeat.
HEALTH BENEFITS:
By adding rhythm sticks, finger cymbals, jingle sticks, and a table gong to two schools, the health benefits are numerous. Students will receive full, weekly benefits of the following elements:

SIDE EFFECTS:
Side effects include toe-tapping, singing in the hallways, dancing on the sidewalk, and a love for music that is priceless.

Your help will ensure that my students will have the basic musical instruments necessary for a music teacher who teaches “a la cart” and carries all of her materials between schools on a weekly basis.
