it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Throughout my 10 years of teaching at GLECPVA, the major struggle I dealt with was storage for my instruments. I teach prekindergarten to eighth grade students, each with their own set of instruments. Unfortunately, elementary schools are sharing instruments with middle schoolers, and they do not have a place to keep their own instruments safe and undamaged. Because our middle schoolers see elementary instruments, they act like the instruments are toys because of how colorful the instruments are. But, if the instruments had there own location, then the chance of instruments being damaged would be little to none.
Therefore, I am asking donors to support my project, and fund getting wire racks to use as storage for elementary instruments, which will allow for instrumental safe keeping and protection from unwarranted wear and tear.
The goal for these racks are to create an elementary storage closet for strictly elementary instruments where students can get their instruments without having to rummage through middle school storage rooms to get their instruments. What makes this a special project is how students will have their special area to put their respective equipment, and that area will be locked away from middle schoolers hands.
