My Students
Greetings. I work for a Title I district. Our schools do not have a lot of money nor do the students. I have been paying for all of our supplies myself as the district does not have the money to help out.
I work for all the schools in my district.
I teach 5th-12th graders. I work in a Title 1 school district. One school has over 90% of its student population on free and reduced lunch. One of the poorest schools has 30 students signed up for strings. They are extremely enthusiastic and really want to learn but we lack the supplies.
My Project
Right now the instruments are being stored on the ground. The risk of scorpions and centipedes hiding out in their instruments is huge. We are moving into a new space so the need for a portable/movable instrument storage unit is a must. The students do not have a permanent orchestra room either so movable is vital.
Using an instrument rack will free up floor space so more students can fit in the classroom as well.
Right now we are very cramped for room. Any help I can get from great people is appreciated.
More than half of students from low‑income households
