This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students love coming to music. They get a little frustrated when there's not enough instruments for everyone. It is more difficult to come together as a class team and make music come to life when students are 3 or more to the major instruments and don't have as much time to try and master their parts. Being able to have more time on a given instrument will allow them to focus on the emotional and team work skills that music brings to the table.
Music uses all classroom skills (math/reading/writing/SEL) all at once and is a cross curricular subject.
These instruments will facilitate having more students playing at once rather than having to share and take turns with the limited amount that our newer (less than 3 years) school has.
