My Project

In my elementary music classroom I love to expose students to instruments that they don't typically get a chance to explore weekly in music class. In our school we are not provided with keyboards for our students to play. Many of our students will never get the opportunity to explore and try the keyboard during their elementary school years. With these keyboards students will get a chance to experiment with the piano keyboard and learn to play simple songs in a small group setting. The TinkerTar is a new invention designed to introduce students to fretted stringed instruments. With these one string TinkerTars students will get an opportunity to try their hand at playing and learning to hold a fretted stringed instrument.

I firmly believe that exploring instruments fosters creativity and it is a very important part of developing a student's love for the arts.

By supporting this project you will be able to impact many students in our elementary school who get music classes twice a week. I hope to incorporate these new instruments into our center rotations, giving students a chance to try a little bit of both instruments.
