Instilling a Love for Science and Social Studies

My students need hands on learning resources for science and social studies such as these bug magnifiers, stickers, discovery games and manipulatives. They need to be able to have real life experiences to help them better understand.

My Students

My students love to do science and social studies, but it isn't the main focus like reading and math. I want to be able to instill a love for science and social studies in my students. They love when we do hands on experiments, their faces just light up!!

Most of my student come from low income families and don't ever get the chance to leave our town.

Many have never even been to a zoo or museum. They also struggle with reading which makes them feel as if they are not smart. When we do hands on activities, they learn more and it helps them to realize that they are smart and can learn too. Just because they struggle in one subject doesn't mean that they can't be great at another one.

My Project

Please donate to my project so that my students can have a positive learning environment with hands on items for science and social studies. I am requesting items like a Landforms & Mapping Resource Box, a Water Activity Tub, Can Do! Sound Discovery and Color & Light Kit, Life Science Stamps, Stack and Match Magnet Rings, Iron Filing Discovery Disk, and resource books. These items will allow us to have interactive science and social studies learning centers in the classroom. They will also help me give my students a higher quality education by allowing them the opportunity to see and touch the information that they are learning about.

This project is important to me because I just started teaching 1st grade and I do not have any science and social studies resources.

These items will help them discover their love for science and social studies. I want all of my students to have a quality education that focuses on all subjects and these products will help me provide that kind of education to them. I will also be able to share these products with others in my school so that ALL students can benefit from them.
