My project needs 30 individual white boards, erasers, whiteboard crayons, and whiteboard markers so the students can provide instant feeback of their learning.
This is an exciting experience. Thank you for your time in considering this proposal. I teach fourth grade in an urban, northern Utah elementary school.
Science, math, social studies, penmanship,and reading are all important subjects in fourth grade. Quick and instant feedback of the student's comprehension in these subjects is a helpful tool for a teacher. Stopping at each student's desk to see their work and understanding of the concepts being taught takes time and can frustrate those who understand and have to wait before they can proceed.
Individual whiteboards would be a simple and effective instant feedback system. With a dryerase marker or crayon and an eraser in hand, the students could answer the problems on their whiteboard and hold it up so the teacher could quickly scan the class and know who understands and who doesn't. After the lesson, the teacher can then pull those together for a reteaching session who need additional help, while those who get it can proceed with their work. Fast finishers are not frustrated. Those confused are enlightened in a fun and easy way. The boards can also be used to teach and reinforce the correct letter formation in cursive writing with lines on one side and solid white on the other.
