FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Newman's classroom raised $365
This project is fully funded
Hello and thank you for reading my proposal. I teach third grade at a public school. My students are predominantly lower middle class. Our school is in an area that at one time was quite rural, but has grown tremendously in population over the past few years. Our school recently became a title 1 school.
Doing problems out of a math book every day is not fun, nor is it easy or time effective for me as a teacher to check my student's understanding and progress. I walk around the room as my students are working on their problems, but I can only help one student at a time this way. By the time I get over to some students, they have already done many problems wrong and we have to start over. I need a tool that will help me know immediately which of my students do or do not understand the concept.
Individual whiteboards for each of my students will help me solve this problem! I will be able to pose a question to my students, have them write the answer on the whiteboard and hold it up. This will instantly let me see who understands the problem and who doesn't. It is also more fun for the students and more interactive than doing problems out of the book. This tool will be invaluable to me in helping me teach and assess my students during math class.
Your help will allow me to target instruction immediately to my struggling students. You can help my students have fun and learn more during math class and in other areas of the curriculum as well. These whiteboards will be invaluable to my class, as we will use them often during the day and for many different purposes. Please help us get these materials that we will use every day!
