Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a variety of different demographics and backgrounds. We are a low-income, high poverty school with over 90% of our students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch under Title I services.
I have many students from Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti.
In fact, about 40% of our school's current enrollment qualifies for ESOL services, which means that English is not their first language. They're struggling to understand, to learn, and to finally find their place in the new environment they're learning to call "home." I also have a few students that are physically impaired.
My kids are aspiring leaders, learners, and scholars and they would graciously appreciate your investment in their futures.
My Project
We are wanting to brighten up our Media Center with decorating our bulletin boards and doors. We like to encourage our students with Inspiring words and decorations.
We encourage our students to follow the guidelines of RAVE which stands for Respect, Appreciate, Value Everyone!
I also like to have a book clue wall. This wall gives clues to where hidden Gems (popular books) are located. Our students like looking for those Gems. We also have special needs students that respond to bright colors and visual guides. Thank you for your support!
