Help me give my students pastel chalk, colored pencils, and drawing pads to spark their imaginations as well as give them an outlet to express themselves.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My fourth-grade students are just simply amazing and love to learn! Our school is located in an urban area and is designated as Title I where more than 80 percent of our students qualify for free and/or reduced-price lunch. And, like most schools and communities, our students and families have been greatly affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. Some of our parents are essential workers and have had their work hours cut, while others have had to deal with the loss of a job which has greatly contributed to additional financial distress.
Despite the pandemic, my students know that through education they can make a difference and change the world in a positive way.
My Project
There’s no doubt that art is fun for kids. Drawing has helped my students develop visual-spatial skills and taught them how to interpret, criticize, and use visual information. I would like my students to continue to use art during instruction.
These art activities will give them the outlet they need to express themselves.
While at home during this pandemic, my students will use these art materials to draw external representations of their thinking and drawings that reflect their imagination. During Zoom lessons, visual art activities will also be connected to math, social studies, and science.
