My Students

I have the privilege of working with a group of incredible Kindergarten students. I feel honored that I get to be their first experience with school, and it is my goal to create a classroom that fosters a love of learning.

My students come from a variety of backgrounds.

Some of my students are English Language Learners; others are from military families. I have students in foster care, and others that come from single parent homes. I work hard to build a positive classroom environment which fosters a love of learning, no matter what background the child is coming from. This project will support that learning environment.

My Project

This project will provide my kindergarten students with new center activities to help reinforce letter and number concepts that have been taught in class.

I believe that students learn best through play.

This project will allow students to "play" while they are developing critical reading and math skills. This project will provide Tubes and Pipes as well as Early Learning Boards that practice tying, buttoning and snapping. Both of these items will help students develop their hand muscles, which is critical for writing. This project also provides different letter activities to help students gain a stronger understanding of letters. These include the Play-doh Alphabet Mats and Magnetic Picture Sound Sort. Finally, this project also reinforces math concepts through the use of Number Bots, Number Locks and Pattern Block Cards. All these items inspire learning through play.
