Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 9th, 10th, and 11th grade English students will read independently in class each week. The goal of a classroom library is to appeal to students-- I want the books to jump out at them, begging to be read. Some of my students only have a chance to read during my class, and I want it to be an exciting and inclusive experience. All students deserve to see themselves in books. Diverse authorship is top priority-- these new books cover many worldly topics and identities. Let's encourage reading and community building!
