This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of my students walk into school each day carrying more than just backpacks—they carry emotions, worries, and challenges that can get in the way of learning. From Pre-K through 6th grade, they are at a crucial stage of emotional and social development. This project will provide motivational and social-emotional learning (SEL) materials such as calm-down kits, positive affirmation tools, feelings charts, SEL storybooks, and classroom posters. These items help students identify their emotions, build confidence, and develop essential coping skills—setting them up for success not just in school, but in life.

My goal is to create an environment where students feel safe, supported, and empowered to learn.

By helping students manage their feelings and build resilience, these materials will improve focus, reduce classroom disruptions, and increase student engagement. Motivation grows when students feel emotionally secure and confident, and this project will allow me to provide daily tools and routines to nurture that growth in every student.

What makes my students truly special is their strength, curiosity, and willingness to grow—even when things feel hard. Many of them come from underserved communities and face real-life obstacles beyond their years. Despite this, they show up with open hearts and bright minds. With your support, we can give them the emotional tools and motivational boost they need to keep moving forward, with confidence and kindness leading the way.

These tools will create a safe, encouraging space where students can feel seen, heard, and motivated every single day.
