Young artists have so much talent, but not the supplies available to demonstrate it. I would love for them to be able to experience all that art can do for them without having to worry about not having the materials that will give them this experience.
Each student has a unique voice and story, and we want them to have the opportunity to share that story with the world through their artwork.
Many of the students with the most depth and talent are among our socioeconomically and academically challenged. We do not want our students to worry about resources and art supplies.
My Project
These supplies will help capture the attention of students more easily than the "same old, same old" that they are use to. They will help encourage the students to piece together their own ideas and design with fresh new supplies for new ideas. With multiple rooms we need supplies for multiple classes happening at the same time and not take away from others.
The art room is such a special place in the school building and these items will help keep it that way.
Basic art supplies like colored pencils, drawing pencils and erasers are needed for the start of the school year. Students will also be creating a digital portfolio of all their work through out their 4 years and a digital camera is needed to take quality pictures. This request is important to the students and classroom because it will help stretch the class budget and help meet all of the State Standards.
