This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are excited to launch a project aimed at providing essential art supplies for our AP Art students at Simon Tech High School in Watts. In an area where access to quality art materials is scarce, this initiative seeks to equip our talented students with the tools they need to excel in their AP Art courses, fostering creativity and elevating their artistic experience.
Our AP Art students lack access to professional-grade art supplies, hindering their ability to explore diverse techniques and mediums.
By providing high-quality pens, paints, canvases, color pencils, and brushes, we aim to enhance the quality of their work, preparing them for the challenges of the AP Art curriculum and encouraging artistic growth.
Goals for This Project:
Enhance Artistic Proficiency: Supply students with the tools needed to refine their skills, enabling them to produce work of a higher caliber.
Foster Creative Expression: Cultivate an environment that nurtures creativity, empowering students to think outside the box and develop their unique artistic voices.
Improve AP Exam Preparedness: Ensure students have the necessary resources to create portfolios that reflect their full potential, increasing their chances of success in the AP Art exam.
Our students in Watts embody resilience, resourcefulness, and raw talent. Despite facing economic challenges, they possess a deep passion for the arts.
