Help me give my students basic supplies needed to do science and art. We need these special magnets for a science project. Many students do not have headphones and it is imperative during reading time. Thank you.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach in a Title 1 school. I am a third grade dual language teacher with many students on the Autism Spectrum and in Special Education. Hands on learning is imperative to these students especially.
This is why science and art are very important to our students.
We find ourselves not having the materials we need to do some of our science projects. The special magnets that I am requesting are for a really fun science project. Last year we had to use other magnets and they did not work the same. I do a lot of art and hands-on projects with my students. This is also the reason I requested lots of paper and markers in order for students to have enough supplies to do art.
I have also requested noise canceling headphones for students who need quiet time and regular headphones for the students' Chrome books. There are always five to ten students who come without headphones. When we are doing reading independently on our computers, it is difficult for students to concentrate if some have to have their volume up and no headphones. I would love to be able to give them headphones if they need them.
