My Project
Hello and thank you for reading this request. My name is Dave and I teach a modern-style industrial arts class to a diverse group of students in Portland Maine. What I am hoping to start is a tradition in jewelry making for our outgoing 8th graders. I have already gathered gemstones, tumblers, necklaces, wire, hand tools and sea-glass. What I still need are the cordless Dremmel Tools to complete the underwater carving process of creating the holes.
My students are very excited about the idea of making beautiful pieces of jewelry and we plan to sell them in our yearly fundraiser in the Spring.
Most of my students are living in poverty and will likely never get a chance to do a project like this at home or in high-school. I would love to be the one to give them this experience with your support. We are almost there.
