My students need (1) Sony Cyber-Shot Digital Camera (DSC-W370) a memory stick, and a replacement battery to document all of their inspired work and experiences in 2nd Grade.
"For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we LEARN BY DOING THEM." [Aristotle]
Our Pre-K through 3rd Grade students are encouraged to think critically and explore through a hands on, process–based curriculum.
As a successful Early Childhood School, we provide a nurturing, yet rigorous community of learning.
Over 90% of our Grade 3 students performed at Level 3 or Above on the New York State English Language Arts and Math Assessments - reflecting continued strong performance even against higher testing standards.
Our commitment to differentiated instruction supports students of all ability levels in every classroom by integrating:
● English Language Learners (ELL students) ●
● English as a Second Language (ESL students) ●
● Students with Special Needs ●
● General Education students ●
Our community is quite international with almost 70% of our students coming from homes where English is spoken as a second language. One-fifth of our students receive extra support for learning English. We also provide communication materials to Parents in 4 home languages (English, Chinese, Spanish & Korean).
We are a Title I, NYC Public School - nearly 60% of students qualify for free / reduced lunch.
My Project
With your support, we would love to get this SONY Cyber-Shot Digital Camera.
The camera will be used to document students involved in a wide range of hands-on learning experiences. Student's creative work will be captured and displayed on bulletin boards throughout our school. When we go on trips, have class visitors or see a performance, it will be wonderful to take photos and videos as memories to look back on. This camera will also allow the Parents / Families of our Students to share in these unique experiences, since most Parents work full-time and are not able to attend all school events.
We are requesting (1) Sony Cyber-Shot Digital Camera, a 4GB Sony memory stick, and replacement battery from Quill.
LITERACY IS INTEGRATED INTO ALL CURRICULUM AREAS, including mathematics, science, social studies and the expressive arts.
Strong Literacy skills are essential in our school and in the real world.
Your help will allow us to showcase our Students' inspired work and achievements throughout the school year. We look forward to increasing Parent Involvement by connecting them to the daily experiences their children share while at school.
We sincerely thank you for your support of our Students!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
