This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are located in the bayou city, Houston. I serve the behavior support class here at the elementary level. The students range from kindergarten to 5th grade. My students are very motivated by technology, which helps them learn. This year, we are short on technology. The students are able to utilize technology to reach their goals, stay focused, and maintain good behavior. The technology helps them learn and is used as a motivator for them as they need additional support.
This is my sixth year in this role and am always advocating and looking for ways to help my kids.
My Project
The computers will allow all of my students to access the websites that we utilize in the classroom for learning. My students use computers in workstations and during their independent work at various times throughout the day. As of now, we are short on technology and the addition of the two computers would help the students’ performance academically and behaviorally. The students are able to benefit by having books read to them, being able to write on the computer, work on math lessons (several take the STAAR test online), and take their weekly tests on the computer.
With the addition of the two computers, my class will be equipped with the proper amount of technology to assist my students in their educational endeavor.
