Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I want my students to be self-motivated and become lifelong learners. I want them to be able to explain their thinking and to critically think in all subject matters. My biggest challenge this year is the implementation of the Common Core State Standards.
My teaching experience thus far has been bittersweet.
It's been an amazing experience being able to inspire young minds. The feeling I get when I have struggling kids who finally see the light at the end of the tunnel is extremely rewarding. Though it's been a great journey, I have also had difficulty with the lack of technology and support to grow as an educator. Each year it's a challenge to be able to address the many needs that walk through the doors. It's a challenge trying to access great online resources such as My Pearson Training, with a lack of reliable technology equipment.
My Project
I am requesting an iPad2 so that I am able to grow as an educator. The iPad2 will enable me to access My Pearson Training website and access the many resources they have to help me improve as an educator. Some of the resources they have that will help me grow are tutorials, webinars, training materials, implementation ideas, and more. These Pearson resources will help me learn best teaching practices and strategies to help me guide my students to become critical thinkers and access the Common Core State Standards with ease.
Donations to my project will improve the dynamic of my classroom because I will be able to improve my teaching practices by implementing the strategies and best practices that I will learn from My Pearson Training website.
These best practices and strategies that I will learn will help me reach the needs of my students and motivate them to try their best and be critical thinkers in all subject matters.
